Who Can Apply?

The recruitment is not aimed at fresh graduates. Most positions require substantial professional experience in enterprise IT environments.

For many engineering and administrator-level positions, ESIC requires a Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communication or another engineering stream, or MCA from a recognised university.

For the senior Project Director position, the notification requires an engineering-related Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree along with an MBA in IT or Project Management. At least 20 years of experience in large-scale IT systems, e-Governance programmes or enterprise ICT environments is required.

For several specialist-level posts, the minimum experience requirement is six years. Senior lead positions generally require around 12 years of experience, including specified experience in a lead role.

For example, the IT Operations Lead requires at least 12 years of enterprise IT operations experience, including five years as an IT Operations Lead. Candidates are also expected to have experience with large production environments and systems operating at a 99.5% or higher SLA.

Similarly, Windows and Linux system administrator positions require at least six years of relevant experience. Experience with production data-centre environments, system troubleshooting, security hardening and high-availability systems is preferred.

ESIC ICT PMU Recruitment: Cybersecurity Professionals Also Wanted

Cybersecurity is a major part of the recruitment drive.

ESIC has included positions covering cybersecurity leadership, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, NAC, SOC, NOC and Zero Trust Network Access.

The Cyber Security Lead position requires at least 12 years of experience in cybersecurity operations and security audits. Knowledge of security governance, information-security frameworks such as ISO 27001, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and compliance is part of the role. Cybersecurity certifications and Lead Auditor qualifications can provide an advantage.

The Cyber Security Engineer roles require hands-on experience with enterprise security platforms and security monitoring. Candidates may work with SIEM, SOAR, NAC and XDR platforms, investigate alerts, analyse logs, execute response playbooks and prepare security and compliance reports.

IT Infrastructure, Database and Application Roles

The recruitment also covers several technical areas that are critical to large-scale digital operations.

Infrastructure professionals will be involved in capacity planning, compute and storage allocation, virtualization, asset management, backup and disaster recovery. The Infrastructure Engineer role specifically mentions large-scale environments, including exposure to systems with more than 1,000 servers and storage exceeding 200 TB as a preferred experience.

Database administrators will handle production database performance, security, upgrades, incident resolution and capacity planning. Another dedicated role focuses on database backup, replication and disaster recovery between the Data Centre and Disaster Recovery Centre.

On the application side, ESIC is recruiting an Applications Lead as well as Application Engineers specialising in .NET/DB and Java/DB. The Applications Lead will oversee release management, application performance, UAT, defect prioritisation, documentation and application-level disaster recovery activities.

Networking and Data Centre Jobs

The notification also has a dedicated set of positions for networking and data-centre operations.

The Network & DC Lead will oversee network availability, resilience, capacity planning, data-centre operations, telecom links and disaster-recovery exercises. Networking Engineer positions cover the primary Data Centre, Disaster Recovery Centre and DC-DR synchronization activities.

There is also a specialised Network Administrator Engineer role dealing with load balancers, Web Application Firewalls, anti-DDoS systems, IPS and HIPS. The notification specifically mentions awareness and use of AI in network security as part of the responsibilities.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and must not exceed the upper age limit of 62 years as on the closing date of application.

The contract itself cannot continue beyond five years or the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance and continued functional requirements.

Contract Period and Posting

The engagement is initially for a fixed period, with the notification providing for engagement for up to three years and extension by one year at a time, subject to conditions, up to a maximum of five years (3+1+1).

These are not regular ESIC posts. The selected professionals will have no claim or right to regular appointment or absorption in ESIC. The engagement is intended for specific tasks and fixed-duration, output-oriented objectives.

The initial place of posting is New Delhi, but ESIC has stated that professionals may be posted anywhere in India and transferred between ESIC offices according to administrative requirements.

Important Points Before Applying

Candidates should carefully check the detailed eligibility conditions for the specific post before submitting an application. ESIC has made it clear that simply submitting an application does not guarantee an interview.

The Corporation may verify the claims and documents later, and candidature can be cancelled if information provided in the application is found to be incorrect or unsupported. False declarations can also result in cancellation at any stage.

The engagement is full-time, and professionals will not be permitted to take up another assignment during the contractual period. The contract can also be terminated under the conditions specified in the notification.

Interestingly, ESIC has also stated that candidates who appeared for an interview for the same positions under the previous advertisement dated February 23, 2026, do not need to apply again.

ESIC ICT PMU Recruitment 2026: Key Takeaway

This recruitment is particularly relevant for experienced IT professionals who have worked in government, PSU, BFSI, telecom, or large enterprise technology environments.

Rather than recruiting for conventional entry-level government jobs, ESIC is looking for specialists who can manage large production systems, cybersecurity operations, enterprise applications, databases, networking, disaster recovery and technology procurement.

With remuneration reaching Rs.3.30 lakh per month for the top position, the recruitment could attract senior technology professionals with extensive enterprise and leadership experience. However, candidates should remember that these are fixed-term contractual positions, not regular ESIC appointments.

Official notification: Candidates should refer to the detailed ESIC advertisement and application format on the ESIC website before applying. The notification specifically directs eligible candidates to the detailed advertisement available at esic.gov.in.
