RRB Recruitment Technician 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the much-awaited RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 Notification (CEN 02/2026), inviting online applications for 6,557 Technician vacancies across various Railway Zones in India. The recruitment includes Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates with ITI, Diploma, Engineering Degree, and selected B.Sc. qualifications. Eligibility Criteria

Technician Grade I Signal

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

• B.Sc. with Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, or Information Technology
• Three-Year Diploma in Engineering
• Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline

Technician Grade III

Candidates should have:

• Class 10 (Matriculation)
• ITI in the relevant trade recognised by NCVT/SCVT

Certain apprenticeship qualifications are also accepted for specified posts. Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Technician Grade I Signal

• Minimum: 18 Years
• Maximum: 33 Years

Technician Grade III

• Minimum: 18 Years
• Maximum: 30 Years

Age will be calculated as of 1 July 2026.

Age relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC (NCL): 3 Years
• PwBD: As per Government Rules
• Other reserved categories: Applicable relaxation as per notification.

Salary

Technician Grade I Signal

• Basic Pay: 29,200
• Estimated Gross Salary: 55,000–60,000 per month depending on allowances and posting location.

Technician Grade III

• Basic Pay: 19,900
• Estimated Gross Salary: 35,000–40,000 per month including allowances.

Application Fee

A major portion of the examination fee is refundable after appearing in the CBT, subject to the notification conditions.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of only three stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
2. Document Verification
3. Medical Examination

There is no CBT-2 in this recruitment, making the process quicker than many other railway examinations.

• Total Questions: 100
• Duration: 90 Minutes

Technician Grade III

• Total Questions: 100
• Duration: 90 Minutes

There will be negative marking of one-third (1/3) for every incorrect answer.

Medical Standards

Different Technician posts require different medical standards such as A3, B1, B2, and C1. Candidates should carefully check the prescribed medical requirements for their chosen post before submitting the application.
