Educational Qualification

Age will be calculated as of 1 July 2026.

• Minimum Age: 20 Years
• Maximum Age: 33 Years

Date of Birth Criteria

For the unreserved category, candidates should have been born between:

• 02 July 1993
• 01 July 2006

Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation according to Government rules.

Age Relaxation

Eligible candidates can claim relaxation in the upper age limit.

• SC/ST: 5 years
• PwBD:

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

• Initial Basic Pay: Rs.35,400 per month

Apart from the basic salary, employees will receive:

Medical Standards

Candidates must satisfy the A-2 Medical Standard, which includes:

• Distant vision: 6/9 without glasses
• Near vision: Sn 0.6
• Colour vision test
• Binocular vision test
• Night vision test
• Myopic vision test

One important point mentioned in the notification is that candidates who have undergone LASIK or any refractive eye surgery are not eligible for this post. A prescribed self-declaration regarding LASIK must be submitted during document verification.

Selection Process for RRB Section Controller Recruitment

The recruitment process consists of four stages.

Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Candidates will first appear for a single-stage Computer-Based Test.

• Negative marking is applicable.
• One-third of the marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
• Marks will be normalized if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

Stage 2: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• 70% weightage of CBT marks
• 30% weightage of CBAT marks

Stage 3: Document Verification

Stage 4: Medical Examination
