WBSSC Upper Primary Counselling 2026: The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has released a notification for the ‘Re: Counselling for the post of Assistant Teachers in connection with 1^st SLST for Upper Primary Level of Classes, 2016 in compliance with solemn order of the Hon’ble Division Bench in CPAN NO. 589 OF 2025 arising out of MAT 638 of 2021 & other related matters.’

WBSSC has officially announced the counselling schedule for waitlisted candidates for the post of Assistant Teachers (Upper Primary Level, Classes V-VIII) under the 1st State Level Selection Test (SLST), 2016.

The public notice, issued on 15 July 2026, confirms that counselling will begin later this month in compliance with the directions of the Calcutta High Court.

WBSSC Upper Primary Counselling to Start from July 21

According to the notification, counselling for eligible waitlisted candidates will commence on 21 July 2026.

The counselling will be conducted at:

West Bengal Central School Service Commission
2nd Office Building, DK-7/2, Karunamoyee (Near Anandalok Hospital), Kolkata

The schedule has been released in accordance with the order passed by the Hon’ble Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court on 21 May 2026 in CPAN No. 589 of 2025, arising out of MAT 638 of 2021, along with other connected matters.

Intimation Letters Available from July 17

WBSSC has informed candidates that Counselling Intimation Letters can be downloaded from the Commission’s official website beginning 17 July 2026.

Candidates are advised to follow the instructions that will be published on the Commission’s website on the same day before appearing for counselling.

Vacancy Details Also to Be Released

Along with the counselling instructions, the Commission will also upload the relevant vacancy details on 17 July 2026. Candidates should carefully review the available vacancies before attending the counselling process.

Who Should Attend?

The counselling is meant only for waitlisted candidates of the 1st SLST (Upper Primary), 2016 who are eligible under the Commission’s published waiting list and the directions of the Calcutta High Court.

Candidates should carry all required original documents and follow the official instructions mentioned in their counselling letter to avoid any inconvenience during the verification process.
