Delhi SIR 2026: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Delhi has entered an important stage. Under the revised schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the homes of electors who have received notices and collect the required documents. Electors covered by such notices are not required to visit the ERO/AERO office simply for the purpose of the hearing process.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi, has also announced special camps at educational institutions for young electors and at polling stations to help citizens complete the required electoral-roll formalities.

What is Delhi SIR 2026?

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a detailed exercise for revising the electoral roll. The Election Commission has directed the SIR process in Delhi with the objective of ensuring that eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll while ineligible entries are not retained.

The CEO Delhi website has a dedicated SIR 2026 section containing the draft electoral roll, notice lists, claims and objections information, the revised schedule and other related documents.

Delhi SIR: BLOs Will Visit the Homes of Notice-Issued Electors

One of the key updates is for electors who have received notices during the SIR process.

According to the information issued by the Delhi election authorities, BLOs will visit the homes of such electors to collect the required documents.

This means electors who have received a notice do not have to visit the ERO/AERO office merely to attend a hearing for submission of the required documents. However, if an individual receives a specific direction from the election authorities, that instruction should be followed.

October 30 Is an Important Deadline

The revised SIR schedule shown by the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi sets October 30, 2026 as the deadline for the relevant revision activities, including filing claims and objections. The notice and disposal phase is scheduled to continue until November 30, 2026, with final publication scheduled for December 4, 2026.

SIR Activity Revised Schedule
Filing of claims and objections 31 August to 30 October 2026
Notice phase and disposal of claims/objections 31 August to 30 November 2026
Final publication 4 December 2026

Therefore, voters who need to take action regarding their electoral-roll entry should not wait until the last date.

Delhi SIR: What Are Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8?

Different forms are used for different electoral-roll requirements.

  • Form 6: New Voter Registration

Form 6 is used for applying for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll as a new elector. The Election Commission’s voter portal provides Form 6 for eligible citizens seeking registration.

  • Form 7: Deletion or Objection

Form 7 is used for submitting an objection to a proposed inclusion or seeking deletion of an existing entry from the electoral roll.

  • Form 8: Correction or Shifting

Form 8 is used for services such as shifting residence, correction of entries in the electoral roll, replacement of an EPIC in specified circumstances and marking of a PwD elector.

So, voters should select the form according to their actual requirement rather than submitting a form simply because it is mentioned in a social media post.

Special Camps for Voters

The Delhi election authorities are also organising Special Camps as part of the SIR process.

According to the information shown in the official notice, camps are being organised at:

  • Educational institutions for young and new electors
  • Polling stations across Delhi
  • Other designated locations as notified by the election authorities

These camps are intended to make it easier for voters to complete the required electoral-roll formalities.

Voters should check the latest notification from the CEO Delhi for the exact location and timing of the camp in their area.
