EIL Associate Engineer Recruitment 2026: 20 vacancies for Mechanical, Metallurgical and Electrical engineers
The recruitment notification has two position codes.
Associate Engineer Gr. I – Inspection, Mechanical/Metallurgical
There are 16 vacancies for this position. Candidates must have a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPI.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years of relevant post-qualification experience. The notification specifically seeks experience in inspection of equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns/towers, reactors and other major fabricated static equipment used in refinery and petrochemical services.
Experience with pumps and compressors manufactured and tested according to API standards is also relevant. Knowledge of welding processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and codes are desirable.
Associate Engineer Gr. I – Inspection, Electrical
The remaining 4 vacancies are for Electrical Engineering professionals.
Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) in Electrical Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPI, along with a minimum of two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
The required experience includes inspection of electrical equipment such as switchboards, motors, transformers, alternators, synchronous generators, variable frequency drives, uninterrupted power supplies, electrical control systems, battery chargers, power cables and control cables.
Knowledge of relevant IEC, NEC and IS codes is essential for this position.
EIL Recruitment 2026 age limit
The upper age limit for both positions is 32 years, with the cut-off date for educational qualification, experience and age being 31 August 2026.
The notification provides applicable age relaxations for reserved categories, PwD candidates and Ex-Servicemen. For example, the upper age limit is relaxable by five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC-NCL candidates, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
Salary: Up to Rs.64,000 per month
Selected candidates appointed as Associate Engineer Grade I will receive consolidated monthly remuneration based on the city category:
- X Category Cities: Rs.64,000
- Y Category Cities: Rs.60,800
- Z Category Cities: Rs.57,600
The stated remuneration includes HRA and PF.
The notification also lists additional benefits, including medical insurance premium reimbursement up to ₹2 lakh per year for self, reimbursement of eligible out-of-pocket expenses for work beyond standard hours, GPAI scheme coverage, travelling allowance for official travel and paid leave of two days for each completed month, subject to company policy.
Fixed-term job for three years
This is not a permanent appointment. According to the notification, the engagement will initially be for three years, as applicable. Unless terminated earlier, the engagement will automatically end after the specified period.
The notification also clearly states that working on a fixed-term basis will not create any claim for regular appointment in EIL.
