WB CAP Portal 2026-27: Heartiest greetings and congratulations to all the students who have secured admission to the college through the online portal for the first phase of the 2026-27 academic session.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that 308,793 students have been admitted in the first phase this year, compared to 257,429 in the 2025-26 academic session. Even more gratifying is the fact that the enrollment rate for female students has increased by 26.45% compared to the previous academic year.

Classes for the new academic session will commence on July 7th. Students who have not yet secured admission should not lose heart; instead, they are encouraged to apply for the second phase of the admission process via the online portal starting July 7th.

West Bengal has achieved a significant milestone in higher education admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. The state’s Centralised Admission Portal (CAP) has witnessed a strong rise in student participation, with over 3.08 lakh students securing admission during the first phase.

According to the official data released for Phase 1 admissions, a total of 3,08,748 students have been admitted through the online portal for the 2026-27 academic session.

During the previous academic year (2025-26), the corresponding figure stood at 2,57,429 admissions.

This represents an impressive 19.94% increase in total admissions within just one year.

Applications Cross 25 Lakh Mark

The number of students applying through the Centralised Admission Portal has also grown substantially.

Overall applications have increased by 20.35%, indicating that more students are choosing to pursue undergraduate education through the state’s unified admission system.

WB CAP Portal: Female Participation Reaches New High

One of the biggest highlights of this year’s admission process is the remarkable increase in female participation.

This marks a 25.78% increase in female applications.

Female admissions have grown by 26.45%, demonstrating that more women are successfully securing seats in colleges across West Bengal.

The gender-wise applicant data also shows strong growth among male students, indicating a healthy rise in higher education enrolment across both categories.

Students who have secured admission during the first phase are expected to begin their academic session from 7 July.

Students who could not secure admission in the first phase need not worry.

The state government has announced that the second phase of the online admission process will begin on 7 July through the Centralised Admission Portal.
