Who Can Apply?

Applicants must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

  • Must be a regular teacher or Head of School in a recognized Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, or Higher Secondary School.
  • Must have completed at least 10 years of regular teaching service.
  • Must be serving in one of the following institutions:
    • State Government Schools
    • Union Territory Schools
    • Local Body Schools
    • Government-Aided Schools
    • CBSE-affiliated Schools
    • CISCE-affiliated Schools
    • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV)
    • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV)
    • Sainik Schools
    • Other recognized schools

Who is Not Eligible?

The following categories are not eligible to apply:

  • Contractual teachers
  • Shiksha Mitra or similar para-teachers
  • Teachers engaged only in private coaching or tuition
  • Educational administrators
  • School inspectors
  • Officials not directly involved in classroom teaching
  • Staff of training institutes and other ineligible categories as specified in the official guidelines

Eligibility for Retired Teachers

Retired teachers are generally not eligible. However, those who remained in active service for at least four months up to 30 April of the award year may be considered subject to the conditions mentioned in the official guidelines.

Selection Process

The selection is based on a 100-point evaluation system.

1. Objective Criteria (10 Marks)

Marks will be awarded based on:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APAR)
