ICMR-NITHR Jabalpur Recruitment 2026: 25 Project Vacancies Announced, Walk-in Interviews on October 5 and 6

ICMR-NITHR Jabalpur Recruitment 2026: The ICMR-National Institute for Tribal Health Research (ICMR-NITHR), Jabalpur, has released Vacancy Notification Advt. No. 05/2026-27 for recruitment to various project-based positions. According to the notification, the appointments will be made on a purely temporary and contractual basis for a period of three months or until the finalisation of the manpower outsourcing GeM contract, whichever is earlier.

The recruitment drive covers research, medical, technical, administrative, field and support positions. Based on the post-wise vacancies mentioned in the notification, there are 25 positions in total across 22 listed posts.

Post-wise Vacancy Details

1. Project Research Scientist-III (Medical/Non-Medical)

Vacancy: 1
Age limit: Not exceeding 45 years
Salary: 78,000 + 20% HRA

The post requires qualifications such as MBBS/BVSc/BDS with a postgraduate degree, including MD/MVSc/MDS/MPH, with the prescribed post-qualification experience. Other qualifying routes include MBBS/BVSc/BDS with MPH/PhD and the required experience, or a postgraduate degree with five years of research/field-work experience in public health projects.

The selected candidate will be involved in research on microbial pathogens of public health importance, diagnostic sample data analysis, supervision of project staff, research proposal development, project management assistance and report preparation.

The project is “ADOPT-HTAIn (Health Technology Assessment in India)” and the walk-in interview is scheduled for October 5, 2026.

2. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

Age limit: Not exceeding 40 years
Salary: ₹67,000 + 20% HRA

Candidates need a postgraduate degree with three years of post-qualification experience or a PhD. Preference is given to candidates with a doctorate or M.Tech degree in the relevant subject or engineering field, additional postdoctoral research/training experience, and knowledge of computer applications, business intelligence tools or data management.

The role includes NGS and bioinformatics analysis, team supervision, public health research, laboratory establishment, biosafety, molecular and serological diagnostics, microbial pathogen work, quality control and documentation.

The project concerns the development of novel molecular diagnostic targets for Scrub Typhus.

3. Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
