CSIR NEIST Recruitment (MTS and Driver) 2026: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), has released a notification for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking Staff and Driver (Non-Technical).

CSIR-NEIST invites online applications from enthusiastic, young, dynamic, and talented citizens for the following posts as per the details given below:

Vacancy Details for CSIR NEIST Recruitment 2026

CSIR-NEIST has announced vacancies for two different posts:

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

A total of 9 vacancies have been announced for the MTS post. The reservation breakdown includes:

  • UR: 4
  • EWS: 1
  • OBC (NCL): 2
  • SC: 1
  • ST: 1

Two posts are also reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and two are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Driver (Non-Technical)

There is 1 vacancy for the Driver post under the Unreserved category.

Educational Qualification:

What are the educational qualifications for the engagement of CSIR NEIST –in detail below;

Multi Tasking Staff (Post Code: MTS) –

  • Matriculation or equivalent pass

Driver (Non-Technical) (Post Code: DR) –

  • Possession of valid driving license for LMV and HMV.
  • Knowledge of motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle)
  • Experience of driving a motor car for at least 3 years.
  • Pass in 10th Standard.

Age Limit

MTS

  • Maximum age: 25 years

Driver

  • Maximum age: 27 years

Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and other eligible categories will be provided as per Government of India rules.

Salary Amount for CSIR NEIST Recruitment:

MTS Salary

  • Pay Level: Level-1
  • Approximate monthly emoluments: Rs. 33,375

Driver Salary

  • Pay Level: Level-2
  • Approximate monthly emoluments: Rs. 36,700

Apart from salary, employees will also receive:

  • Dearness Allowance (DA)
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • Transport Allowance (TA)
  • Medical reimbursement
  • Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
  • Pension benefits under National Pension System (NPS)

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ EWS category are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500/- through SBI Collect.

However, candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwBD/ ESM/ Women/ CSIR Employees are exempted from application fee.

Application fee paid through any other mode will not be accepted, and the application will be treated as without application fee and rejected as invalid.

Application Process for the recruitment of CSIR NEIST Recruitment (MTS and Driver) 2026 -in detail below;

  • Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE by visiting the CSIR-NEIST website. No other mode of application will be entertained.
  • The Online application will be available on the CSIR-NEIST website https://www.neist.res.in [opens on 05.05.2026 from 8:30 AM and closes on 04.06.2026 at 05:00 PM.
  • Candidates are advised to go through the instructions (available on CSIR-NEIST career portal) for filling up of online applications carefully.
  • Interested candidates are advised to apply in time to avoid last-minute rush.
  • Candidates applying for more than one post code must submit separate applications indicating the post code of the post in the application form. Each application should be accompanied by a separate SB Collect payment receipt.
  • For submission of online application, the candidates are required to pay a non- refundable fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupee Five Hundred only) through State Bank Collect only. The transaction number/UTR number generated after successful payment of fee is required to be mentioned in the online application. The candidates are advised to download the E-receipt (SB Collect receipt) and preserve it for future communication.

Note**: The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women/CSIR Employees are exempted from payment of application fee.

  1. SSC/10th certificate & Mark sheet (reflecting Date of Birth).
  2. Intermediate/10+2/Diploma Certificate & Mark sheet (wherever applicable).
  3. ITI certificate (wherever applicable).
  4. Latest Caste/Category certificate, etc. in the prescribed Government of India format signed by the specific authority, wherever applicable.
  5. Driving Licence (wherever applicable).
  6. No Objection Certificate with vigilance clearance (wherever applicable).
  7. Certificate (s) related to higher qualification, if any.
  8. State Bank Collect payment receipt.
  9. Certificate related to PwBD/ Women seeking age relaxation etc. (wherever applicable) in the prescribed format.
  10. Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths or the Municipal Corporation or any other prescribed authority, whoever has been empowered under the Registration of Birth and Deaths Act, 1969 to register the birth of a child born in India (only if DOB not mentioned in Secondary or Senior Secondary School Certificate).
  11. Any other relevant certificate/ document.
