CUET UG Final Answer Key 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Final Answer Key for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. The update came as a major development for lakhs of students who appeared for the entrance examination and are now eagerly waiting for the CUET UG 2026 result.

Interestingly, the information first came to our notice through one of our website team leaders, Prakash Pal, who pointed out that the final answer key had been uploaded on the official portal. However, like many students, he found it difficult to understand the PDF because it contains only Question IDs and Answer IDs without any direct explanation. There are no charts, mark summaries, or simple answer options visible in the document. This confusion is currently being faced by thousands of CUET aspirants across India.

This article explains everything students need to know about the CUET UG 2026 Final Answer Key, including how to download it, how to identify correct answers, how to calculate probable scores, what dropped questions mean, expected cut-offs, and the next admission process.

CUET UG 2026 Final Answer Key Released

The National Testing Agency has uploaded the final answer key PDF on the official CUET website. The document contains subject-wise Question IDs and their corresponding correct Answer IDs for all shifts and exam dates. The final answer key is prepared after reviewing objections submitted by candidates against the provisional answer key.

According to reports, NTA has also dropped seven questions across different subjects after evaluating student challenges and expert committee recommendations.

The released PDF contains hundreds of pages covering all subjects and shifts. The first page of the document clearly shows Question IDs and their final correct Answer IDs for the English paper. Similar subject-wise answer keys are available throughout the PDF.

Why Students Are Finding the PDF Difficult to Understand

Many candidates expected to see normal answer options such as A, B, C, or D. Instead, the PDF contains:

  • Question ID
  • Answer ID

For example:

Question ID: 226895771725
Answer ID: 2268952992331

These numbers do not directly tell students whether Option A, B, C, or D is correct.

The reason is that CUET is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Every question and answer option is assigned a unique digital ID in NTA’s system. Therefore, the final answer key displays these IDs rather than traditional option letters.

How to Download the CUET UG 2026 Final Answer Key

Students can download the answer key by following these steps:

  • Visit the official CUET website: https://cuet.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the link titled: “Final Answer Keys for CUET (UG) – 2026”
  • The PDF will open in a new tab.
  • Download and save the PDF for future reference.
  • Keep your previously downloaded Response Sheet and Question Paper PDF ready.

How to Understand the Final Answer Key

The final answer key alone cannot tell you your score.

You must compare it with your Response Sheet.

What You Need

  1. Final Answer Key PDF
  2. Response Sheet PDF
  3. Question Paper PDF

Process

  • Open your Response Sheet.
  • Find the Question ID.
  • Note the Answer ID selected by you.
  • Open the Final Answer Key.
  • Search for the same Question ID.
  • Compare your selected Answer ID with the Final Answer Key Answer ID.

If both IDs match, your answer is correct.

If they do not match, your answer is incorrect.

How to Calculate CUET UG 2026 Score

The expected score can be calculated using the CUET marking scheme:

For Every Correct Answer

+5 Marks

For Every Wrong Answer

-1 Mark

For Unanswered Questions

0 Marks

Formula

Final Score = (Correct Answers × 5) − (Wrong Answers × 1)

Example

  1. Correct Answers = 40
  2. Wrong Answers = 8
  3. Unattempted = 2
  4. Score = (40 × 5) − (8 × 1)
  5. Score = 200 − 8
  6. Score = 192

This will be your raw score before normalization.

What Does “Dropped Question” Mean?

Several students have noticed discussions about dropped questions.

A dropped question means NTA has decided not to evaluate that question normally because:

  • The question was incorrect.
  • More than one answer was found correct.
  • The question was ambiguous.
  • Technical or content issues were identified.

Reports indicate that NTA has dropped seven questions in the final answer key process.

Who Gets Marks for Dropped Questions?

Generally, all candidates who attempted the dropped question receive full marks as per NTA rules.

This can positively impact overall scores.

What Happens After the Final Answer Key?

The release of the final answer key is usually the last major step before result declaration.

Once the final answer key is published:

  • No further objections are accepted.
  • Scores are finalized.
  • Result processing begins.
  • Percentile and normalization are completed.

Therefore, the CUET UG 2026 result can be announced at any time.
