WB 2nd SLST (AT) 2025: The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC), Acharya Sadan 11 & 11/1, Block-EE, Salt Lake, Kolkata -700091, has released a notification for the ‘Regarding edit option for updating OBC Sub-Category/ Unreserved category details for the candidates of 2nd SLST (AT), 2025 (Classes IX-X).’  

WBSSC announced an important edit facility for candidates appearing in the 2nd SLST (AT) 2025 for Classes IX-X. Candidates who need to update their OBC sub-category or Unreserved (General) category details will be able to make the necessary changes through the Commission’s online portal.

According to the notification dated August 21, 2026, the edit window will remain open from August 25 to August 31, 2026.

WBSSC 2nd SLST (AT) 2025 Edit Option: What Has Changed?

The latest notification has been issued in connection with the earlier Memo No. 1060/Bsecy/BCW/7P-63/2024 dated August 7, 2026.

The Commission has decided to provide candidates with an opportunity to update their OBC Sub-Category or Unreserved category information for the 2nd SLST (AT) 2025 recruitment process for Classes IX-X.

This facility is particularly important for candidates whose category-related information needs to be updated in the application record.

WBSSC OBC Category Edit Window 2026

Candidates will be able to access the edit facility through the official WBSSC website during the following period:

  • Edit option starts: August 25, 2026
  • Last date to edit: August 31, 2026
  • Recruitment: 2nd SLST (AT), 2025
  • Classes: IX-X
  • Information to be updated: OBC Sub-Category / Unreserved Category details

The notification clearly states that candidates must complete the process within the specified deadline.

WB 2nd SLST (AT) 2025 Edit Option: How to Update OBC Sub-Category Details

Candidates who are eligible to make changes will need to log in to the Commission’s online portal and follow the edit process.

The steps mentioned in the notification are:

  1. Visit the WBSSC online portal (https://old.westbengalssc.com/sscorg/wbssc/home/)
  2. Log in using the required credentials.
  3. Select the “Edit” option.
  4. Choose the appropriate category from the available drop-down menu.
  5. If the OBC category is selected, provide the relevant OBC sub-category.
  6. Enter the applicable certificate number.
  7. Enter the name of the issuing authority in the designated field.
  8. Review the information carefully before completing the update.

The Commission has specifically mentioned that the certificate number and issuing authority will be available as separate fields after the category is selected.

What Happens If Candidates Do Not Update Their Category?

This is the most important point in the notification.

Candidates who fail to mention their OBC Sub-Category or applicable category details with in August 31, 2026 will have their candidature automatically treated under the Unreserved (General) Category.

The Commission has also stated that no representation or request for an extension will be entertained under any circumstances.

Therefore, eligible candidates should not wait until the final day to complete the process.

Before submitting the edited information, candidates should carefully verify the category, OBC sub-category, certificate number and issuing authority details.

Final Reminder for Candidates

The WBSSC’s latest notice gives candidates a limited opportunity to correct or update their OBC Sub-Category or Unreserved Category details for the 2nd SLST (AT) 2025 process for Classes IX-X.

The edit facility will be available for only seven days, from August 25 to August 31, 2026. Candidates who need to update their information should complete the process within this period.

Most importantly, candidates should remember that failure to provide the required category or OBC sub-category information within the deadline will result in their candidature being considered under the Unreserved (General) Category, with no provision for an extension or further representation according to the notification.
