WB Pension Increased to Rs.1,500 from August 2026: The Government of West Bengal has approved the enhancement of monthly financial assistance under Social Welfare Pension Schemes for Old Age, Widow, and Disability Pensions from 1,000 rupees to 1,500 rupees, from the 1st of next month. In an official order released yesterday, the government said that the enhanced assistance will be disbursed to all eligible beneficiaries through the existing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
The West Bengal Government has announced a significant increase in monthly financial assistance for beneficiaries covered under both the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and the state’s Social Welfare Pension Schemes. Starting from 1 August 2026, eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs.1,500 per month, replacing the existing assistance of Rs.1,000.

When Will the New Pension Be Paid?
The revised pension becomes effective from 1 August 2026.
The government has stated that:
- The enhanced pension amount will be applicable from August 2026.
- Payments will continue through the existing DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mechanism.
- Beneficiaries are expected to receive the increased amount in their bank accounts during the September payment cycle, covering the revised August entitlement.

No Separate Application Required
