BEML Limited has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for Operator positions on a tenure basis. The recruitment notification, released under Advertisement No. KP/S/10/2026, dated June 17, 2026, offers vacancies across several technical trades, including Fitter, Turner, Welder, Machinist, and Electrician.
BEML Limited, a leading public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, plays a significant role in manufacturing products for India’s defence, rail, metro, and mining, and construction sectors. The company is known for producing advanced equipment such as metro rail coaches, mining machinery, armored vehicles and Vande Bharat sleeper train components.
BEML Recruitment 2026: Total Vacancies Available
The recruitment drive includes a total of 362 vacancies for the post of Operator on a tenure basis across five trades. The trade-wise vacancy distribution is as follows:
- ITI Fitter: 127 posts
- ITI Turner: 93 posts
- ITI Electrician: 58 posts
- ITI Welder: 44 posts
- ITI Machinist: 40 posts
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Unreserved categories can apply according to the reservation criteria specified in the notification.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have completed:
- ITI in the relevant trade with a minimum of 60% marks.
- National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT.
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade issued by the Directorate General of Training (DGT).
Candidates from SC, ST and PwD categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.
Age Limit
The upper age limit as on July 10, 2026, is:
- General/EWS: 29 years
- OBC: 32 years
- SC/ST: 34 years
Additional age relaxation is available for eligible PwD candidates as per the Government of India norms.
Selection Process for BEML Recruitment
The date, time, and venue of the Written Test will be intimated only on the BEML Career page under this advertisement. The recruitment process will be based on a Computer-Based Written Test followed by document verification.
The written examination will be conducted for two hours and will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections:
- General Awareness: 20 questions
- English and Reasoning: 20 questions
- Trade/Discipline Related Questions: 60 questions
Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking. Candidates must secure at least 45% marks to qualify, while SC, ST and PwD candidates will receive a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will be appointed on a tenure basis for a maximum period of four years. During this period, they will receive:
- Basic Pay: Rs.16,900 per month
- Dearness Allowance (IDA) as applicable
- House Rent Allowance (HRA), where company accommodation is not provided
- Additional perks as per company rules
- Medical allowance of Rs.1,500 per month
Employees will also be eligible for Provident Fund contributions, gratuity benefits and bonus as per applicable regulations. An annual increment of 3% on basic pay may also be granted based on satisfactory performance.

Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.200.
SC, ST, and PwD candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
