For Central Railway employees, open the official website and go to the GDCE section.
Once the homepage opens, scroll down, and you will find various recruitment categories such as Sports, Scouts & Guides, Apprentices, and GDCE recruitment notifications.

General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE)

Open the Online Application Link
After opening the GDCE section, you will see several options, such as:

Before applying, candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully. After reviewing the notification, click on Apply Online.
Complete Registration Process
If you are applying for the first time, click on New User Registration.
Read all instructions carefully and then proceed by accepting the declaration checkbox.
You will then see a question:
Are you a Central Railway Employee?
Select:
- Yes, if you are a Central Railway employee
- No, if not applicable
After selecting your option, enter one of the following details:
- PF Number
- NPS Number
- Employee Number
Click on Next.
After entering the required details, your employee information will automatically appear on the screen.
Enter Basic Details
Now candidates need to provide the following information:
- Date of Birth
- Community category
- Disability status (if applicable)
- Mobile number
- Confirm mobile number
- Email ID
- Confirm Email ID
After submitting these details, your registration will be completed successfully and your Registration ID and Password will be sent to your registered email address and mobile number.
Log in and Fill Personal Information
Now, log in using your Registration ID and Password.
Once logged in, complete the remaining details:
- Division name
- Aadhaar number
- Current place of posting
- Working level
- Date of appointment
- Permanent address
- Current address
- Gender
- Examination language
- Two visible identification marks
After checking all information carefully, click on Save and Proceed.
Upload Educational Documents
The next section is educational details.
Candidates need to upload:
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Class 10 certificate
- Class 12 certificate
- ITI certificate
- Diploma certificate
- Degree certificate
While uploading documents, remember these important points:
- All documents should be in PDF format
- File size should remain below 200 KB
- Uploaded files should be clear and readable
Once completed, click Save and Proceed.
Fill Post Preferences
Candidates now need to select their preferred posts according to their qualifications.
Select the posts in order of priority:
- First preference should be your most preferred post
- Second preference should be your next choice
- Continue accordingly
Choose carefully because post preferences cannot be changed later.
Upload Photograph and Signature
Now upload your photograph and signature.
Photograph requirements:
- Recent passport-size color photo
- Clear face visibility
- No blurred image
- Size should be 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm
- File size should be below 200 KB
Signature requirements:
- Signature on white paper
- Blue or black ink signature accepted

Final Submission
After completing all sections:
- Review all details carefully
- Click on Submit
- Confirm your submission
Once completed successfully, an Acknowledgement ID will be generated.
