DRDO JRF Recruitment 2026 (DRDE):Â Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has released a notification for the Walk-in-Interview for the Award of Junior Research Fellow (JRF).
Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, a premier institute of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), invites applications from young and meritorious Indian Nationals who desire to pursue defence-related research as Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Selection will be made on the basis of a walk-in interview to be held at DRDE.

DRDO Junior Research Fellow (JRF) –For Chemistry Subject –
First class M.Sc. in Chemistry (Physical / Analytical / Organic / Inorganic) or related fields and National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by CSIR-UGC NET JRF/LS or GATE (MHRD)
DRDO Junior Research Fellow (JRF) –For Biological Science Subject –
First Class M.Sc. in Life Science/Zoology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Microbiology / Pharmacology/Toxicology/Immunology or related fields along with National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by CSIR-UGC NET JRF/LS or GATE (MHRD)
Age Limit:
What is the age limit for the engagement of DRDO JRF –in detail below;
28 Yrs
Cut-off Date: Age and Educational qualification will be considered as on the date of the interview. The age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and by 3 years for OBC candidates. For other categories of candidates, the age relaxation will be as per the DRDO Policy.
Salary Amount:
Monthly Stipend: Rs. 37,000/- & other allowances as per DRDO HQ policy.

Eligibility for DRDO JRF Recruitment:
The candidate will work initially for the first two years as JRF and will subsequently be upgraded as SRF for the remaining three years, subject to satisfactory performance to be assessed as per DRDO instructions.
Only those candidates who have been awarded a degree/provisional certificate are eligible to apply.

Interview Time & Instructions:
REPORTING TIME is 09:30 hrs on the date of the interview, at Main Gate Reception, DRDE, Jhansi Road, Gwalior-474 002. Latecomers will not be allowed
In case a large number of candidates appear for the walk-in interview on the prescribed date, the interview may be carried over to the next day. The candidates are therefore requested to plan accordingly.
The application form can be downloaded from the DRDO website www.drdo.gov.in. A duly filled application form is to be forwarded to director.drde@gov.in and admin-drde@gov.in.
The application form is required to be submitted in a PDF file as per the given format.
While appearing for an interview, the candidates are required to submit a hard copy of the duly filled application form with a recent passport-size photograph affixed on the top right corner of the first page and one set of self-attested copies of all degrees/academic qualification certificates/ mark sheets/ experience certificates/ NET/GATE Valid Score Card, etc.
The candidate(s) selected as JRF may be allowed to register for Ph.D. during the tenure of the fellowship.
Candidates will be required to produce original certificates/testimonials with regard to. qualifications, experience, age, and caste certificates for verification at the time of the interview.
Candidates presently employed in Government Departments/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies will be required to produce an NOC from the employer at the time of interview.

DRDE is located on Jhansi Road, Gwalior, at 01KM from Gwalior Railway Station near FCI Godown.
